Why Sun Is not a Planet Just Bigger In Size not a Fireball | Planet vs Star | Fundamentals!

Fundamental Difference Between Planet & Sun

Ever wondered why Sun(star) is a huge fireball and not a huge planet?


Actually, it's the mass per unit volume (density) of a planet that decides if a planet stays a planet or turns into a star. There exists a huge number of different kinds of stars but today we won't be talking about it. In fact, we will be more focusing on why stars are so different from the planets? You will be thrilled to know how similar the two are. If the density of the planet Earth were to increase by some mechanism then at one point or another Earth would end up turning into a star.

  • Over one million Earth’s could fit inside the Sun.


So why Earth is not a star with nuclear fusion taking place at its core. Its because the mass of Earth is way too small as compared to the mass of even the smallest star among all, our Sun.
  • The Sun accounts for 99.86% of the mass in the solar system.




We'll be talking about Sun but it's the same for all stars.
It's the extreme gravitational forces acting on the elements that cause Nuclear Fusion on Sun. At the surface, its H+H = He and then He+He = Be and so on until the fusion results in the formation of Fe at the core of the Sun and Fe is a special element because no further fusion occurs afterward as Fe has the best suited binding energy and there is no more stable element in that sense and thus Fe+Fe never occurs. But the crushing of all Fe atoms created every second, at the center (core) of Sun, leads to radiations and radiation leads to loss of atoms and thus the mass of Sun and thus decline in the gravitational force and thus relatively relaxation at the crushing of Fe atoms at the core. 

Since the lighter elements combine to form heavier elements, the volume of Sun increases and thus again the gravitational force decreases in the process.
  • One day the Sun will consume the Earth.


Cool, now you know what fundamentally differentiates a star from a planet.

What will happen if you put the ac (Air Conditioner) front and back in the same room?

What Will Happen IF-

You put the Ac’s (air conditioner’s) front and the back in the same room all together?

If you’ve already thought so, congratulations from our side for you as you are a real ruminator just like us but if you haven’t, then it’s still not a problem as you’ll know it now.

Firstly I'll give you options and you pick one to see if you already knew it.


  1. Ac will cool less effectively and thus leading to more bill.
  2. Ac will heat the room.
  3. Ac will not change the temperature of the room.
  4. Ac will get damaged and after hours of operation it will stop working.

In any case, DID YOU KNOW WHY?

Well the case is same as the case when you are asked, what will happen to the room temperature if the door of the fridge in the room is opened. Yes, here also surprisingly temperature of the room will increase.



Yes, it's beginning to sound more and more terrible now. So I'll just speak up the secret behind this with no further delay in time.

Well, you see fridge or a.c. , both basically cool the temperature of the cooler region and heat the hot region. (Think of it carefully, your fridge when makes a lot of noise sometimes clearly heats up your room).

Forget it,
both the machines fall under the category of refrigerators. Now its something we both can finally agree with. Now, refrigerators work on thermodynamics principle. And it states that no machine can heat without any work being done on it. Well, here the work is done by electricity. But, still it further says to heat a cooler region is easy but to cool a cooler region and to heat a hotter region is tough for any machine so it has to heat more than it cools in this case for the physical feasibility of the machine. It is the rule of the thermodynamics. Further it will heat room and cool room in the ratio 5:4, thus the overall temperature of the room will increase.

I am genuinely sorry because I know I didn't explained it in the best way but it because I didn't want this to turn into a science class. I didn't clearly showed the formulae verifying all this stuff because it will only make the situation worse for those who didn't understand this clearly.

Why Mercury is used in Thermometers?? Why not Water?


Ever ruminated why only mercury is used in thermometers or in blood pressure measuring devices?
Well, when one is asked for the reason, a lot of people simply don't know and don't care, but the others who answered their answers were surprising, these answers included, -

  • " Mercury is used in thermometers since its the only metal at liquid state in room temp." Now so what? the answer followed "so something must be happening".

Well is it necessary to use a metal for this purpose?
          NO. Not at all. there is nothing like that. Metallic characteristics have nothing to do with measuring temperatures. This is something a lot of people don't know. Even water can be used in place of mercury but there is a major disadvantage because of which it is not used.


Why Mercury?

Its because of its density. Mercury has a density 13.6 gram/cm^3, Which enables us to measure wide and most favourable range of pressure in a small volume. It is the density of mercury that make it a perfect choice for thermometers and bp machines. 1 atm is equivalent to 760mm of Hg (Mercury). 
                                {Provided the cross sectional area is very small}

What If Water Is Used In Place Of Mercury?

Well, this is the question one must be thinking about now?
If water is used then the length of the device containing it will be too large.

So, to better understand this, let's see the answer to this question-

  • If water is used in place of mercury, then what should be the minimum length of barometer tube to measure the normal atmospheric temperature? 
{Barometer - an instrument measuring atmospheric pressure, used especially in forecasting the weather and determining altitude.}

**-- Thermometer too uses the same concept based on temperature difference to show the variations. --**



BAROMETER

 

We know 1 atm = 76 cm of Hg.
let p1, p2 be density of water and mercury respectively and h1, h2 be their heights.

Now,

1 atm = p1 x g x h1 = p2 x g x h2
 {p1 = 1g/cm^3 and p2 = 13.6g/cm^3}

thus,
1 x h1 = 13.6 x 76
h = 1033 cm
h = 10.33 m

Clearly,
          what could be represented by 76 cm of Hg requires 10.33 m of water. 

Similarly in case of thermometer too, using water would be impractical because of its high length requirement.

Weirdest and effective way to FIX "Laptop's Keyboard Not Working/Responding" Problem!!

FIXED!!! 

You're working on your laptop, and all of a sudden, the "I" key stops working, or a whole section of your KEYBOARD stops responding to keystrokes. Worse yet, the keyboard cuts out entirely. While this can be a hassle, particularly when you have work due, there are a few things you can try yourself to get back to the job at hand.

Check for Crumbs

Hold your laptop upside down or at the very least at a 45- to 75-degree angle from horizontal and give the laptop a good shake. Sometimes, crumbs from working lunches or your last snack break can get stuck under the keys. This is more of a problem for older laptops, but it's worth a shot even on a new one.
If you have a keyboard vacuum or a can of compressed air, give the nooks and crannies of your keyboard a quick cleaning. If one or two keys are stuck because of soda spillage, you can try cleaning those individual key switches with a rag soaked in a couple of drops of cleaner like rubbing alcohol or even warm soapy water. Make sure you're applying the liquid to the cloth first and not directly to the keyboard. Pop the offending key cap off the keyboard and try to clean as much dried liquid from the key switch as possible. A cotton swab can come in handy here, just be careful and don't disassemble the key switch unless you know what you're doing.
If an extensive section of the keyboard is stuck because of liquid damage, like spilled cup of soda or coffee, your best recourse may be to have the keyboard assembly replaced.

Have you been using a PC which is 3-4 years old in a rough manner. (not necessary) 
If you are then,
You might have faced this problem and there is a really really weird
way of fixing this.
Its had to believe but is really effective and can save your money and time.
But, its effects are not permanent, i.e. you have to follow a certain algorithm
every time you open your PC. 
One might feel that the wire connecting the keyboard has been internally broken at some
point and thus require some help from expert. And you might need such help indeed. But,
before that you must try this.
This algorithm is weird and you won't believe it works but just try and then see.



Before that just make sure that your PC satisfy these conditions,

  • Not a single key of the keyboard is working.
  • Power button and etc on the top are working well.
  • OS has no problem loading itself.
  • There is no external damage to the keyboard.
  • USB ports are responding well, as You may need the help of an external mouse.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been in a tremendous form which makes this final even more interesting and exciting. The world can't wait for this match. Its was always more likely to have Real Madrid vs Juventus in the final this year and here we are.

REMEMBER: CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL 2017 is on 4th June

The question on which the whole world has eyes on is that will Ronaldo be able to strike hat-trick again which will make it a 3 hat-tricks for Ronaldo in Champions League this season. 

Every Ronaldo fan is expecting a hat-trick from CR7 on the final's night i.e. 4th June, but the things aren't as simple. 

On the other hand, Juventus strongly believe that this is the time for them to make name established in the books of champions league winner yet again. And believe me Juventus has got some really talented players who can change things around. After all what it takes is a small distraction and things change around. Juventus defence has proved yo be the most powerful defence in the world in the game of football. They have got really good strikers who can score a lot of goals. RM must stay calm and should not change their genuine style of attack. It will be interesting to watch RM attack trying to break the Juventus defence. Benzema has already shown his form and intentions in the 2nd leg of semi final. Juventus strikers are likely to give RM defenders a good challenge and will surely overcome them not once or twice but many a times. It will be amazing to watch Ronaldo struggling against Buffon.

The most interesting part is that Ronaldo has scored 499 European goals and need just another to make it 500th goal, an all time best ever achieved by any player, though Ronaldo is already the all time best. There can't be any other better place for Ronaldo to score his 500th goal in the Champions League final this year against Juventus, against Buffon!!

Whatever the result may come, this match promises to throughly entertain us. 

Hope this match ends up in some style and may the better of the two teams win.
